The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art will serve as a cultural campus with daily activities focused on the arts:
- Promoting and preserving fine examples of local and regional contemporary
art and craft - Presenting a regular rotation of traveling exhibits
- Offering educational opportunities for all ages and skill levels
- Collaborating with community groups; including the Bainbridge Island School District, KiDiMu, local art galleries and other art museums in the Puget Sound area
The auditorium and classrooms provide:
- A community space for visitors of all ages
- Hands-on educational classes in different media taught by local
and regional artists - A venue for education and film presentations, small musical events,
staged play readings, lectures, etc. - Programming to enhance the visitors’ understanding, experience, and
involvement in the art process
